A Message from Our Superintendent

July 7, 2026
Dear BUSD Students, Parents/Caregivers, and Community,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! Throughout the summer, the BUSD team has been planning for the upcoming school year to ensure our buildings, buses, and, most importantly, our staff are ready to welcome our students and families.
For the upcoming year, let’s become a stronger team by becoming familiar with our BUSD Three-Year Plan goals below and fulfill our mission of: We create: Healthy, Inspiring, Motivating, Developing, Achieving, Graduates.”

Goal 1 |
Goal 2 |
Goal 3 |
Goal 4 |
Goal 5 |
|
– Remove distractions |
– Be in school every day on time – Showing up is a life skill |
– Check your progress in the StudentVUE or ParentVUE app. |
– You deserve to shine. Ask for help with your work or emotions. |
– Teach it, learn it, practice it, and celebrate it! |
We ask that all parents/caregivers download the ParentVUE app on their phones. Through this app, the District intends to empower families in monitoring students’ weekly progress with assignments, assessments, daily attendance, and report cards. For high school families, this app empowers you to monitor whether your student is on track to graduate.
In late August, all students will receive student ID’s that must be worn daily and at all times. The student ID will allow our students to get on the bus, get through the food line, log in to devices, and more. Please ensure your child has his/her ID with them. The first ID will be provided by the school district and replacements will be available at schools for $5.
This year, we had about 75% of our students enrolled through our online enrollment system, helping us plan more efficiently. Thank you for your collaboration in enrolling your students. We still have some students who need to be enrolled. BUSD will have a late enrollment window starting on Monday, July 27th at 10 am. There will be no registration the first two days of school on July 23rd and 24th so that all staff can assist in guiding families and students on those two days.
I look forward to seeing you all again. Let’s work together and experience the most extraordinary year ever.
With gratitude and pride,
Ruben Diaz
